The Everyday Exercises

The Plant in the ConcreteFinding the cosmos in a detail

When: When you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the world around you.

  1. Find your focus — let your gaze rest on a small detail in nature (a plant in a crack in the asphalt, a raindrop).
  2. Observe with curiosity, as though seeing it for the first time.
  3. Breathe with it — one deep breath, inhaling its quiet strength.
  4. Feel the recognition — a quiet gratitude for this small, tenacious life.
The Rhythm of BreathThe universe's current within yourself

When: When your thoughts race, or you need to regain your center.

  1. Find your position — sit or lie comfortably.
  2. Feel the breath, without changing it.
  3. Follow the whole cycle — cool air in, pause, warm air out.
  4. Return, again and again, whenever thoughts wander.
Your Little OasisFinding your realm in the world

When: When you feel disconnected from nature, or need reminding of your own creative power.

  1. Enter your oasis (garden, potted plant, balcony) with full attention.
  2. Open your senses — listen, look, take in the scents.
  3. Observe the network — how everything is connected.
  4. Acknowledge your role as co-creator, not merely spectator.
Standing in the Center of the SpiralCalm in the storm — the emergency tool

When: During a crisis, a conflict, or when negative feelings overwhelm you.

  1. Acknowledge the storm — see it for what it is, don't ignore it.
  2. Visualize it as a swirling spiral around you.
  3. Find your center — stand still at the spiral's midpoint.
  4. Become the observer — you are witness to the storm, not the storm itself.
Listening to the Echoes of the PastUnderstanding your soul's patterns

When: When a pattern repeats in your life, and you wish to understand its deeper cause.

  1. Identify the pattern — choose one recurring theme.
  2. Write without judgment, letting the words flow freely.
  3. Ask the deep question of your inner self.
  4. Listen in stillness — the answer may come as feeling or image.
The Dream Journal as PortalThe soul's nocturnal language

When: As a regular practice, or when you seek clarity at a crossroads.

  1. Set an intention before falling asleep: "I wish to remember my dreams."
  2. Capture the fragments the instant you wake — colours, feelings, images.
  3. Reflect later: what feeling did the dream give you?

The Norse Power Stance

Developed by the author himself — a deliberate Norse/Nordic counterweight to the East-influenced practices further down this page. Rather than dampening the body's currents, this technique opens them to free flow through the bloodstream and nervous system.

Part 1 — The Standing Phase

Stance: Stand upright, feet firmly planted. Head calm, slightly lowered. Arms relaxed, hanging at your sides.

Breath: Calm, deep breaths in the chest (not the belly) — not so deep as to become tiring.

You feel: First, the free flow of blood. Then a calm warmth spreading, similar to a 20 Hz frequency.

Part 2 — The Seated Phase

Sit down calmly. Rest your arms on the ground or your knees with palms down — deliberately the opposite of Eastern traditions' upward-facing palms.

Use the calm energy you feel to meditate on the warm, dark, and good — not a frightening darkness, but a quiet one, like a deep forest.

The Spiral Meditation

A guided meditation for processing difficult events — time as a spiral carrying you away from an event's center, toward a broader perspective.

  1. Initiation into Stillness (3 min) — visualize the Urnullen's dark, infinite space.
  2. Center of the Spiral (4 min) — see the challenge as a point at the spiral's center.
  3. Movement Through the Spiral (5 min) — the spiral grows, each breath carrying you further out toward light and insight.
  4. Gratitude and Return (3 min) — hand on heart, you carry the calm back.

The Deep Practices

Dýpsong — The Soul's Deep Song

Five steps that take you down, in, and back — from the call to stillness to the return, each linked to one of the staves.

  1. Initiation into Silence — Stave 1, the Urnullen. "All is born in silence."
  2. Anchoring the Body — Stave 6, the Code of Form. "I am a branch of the earth."
  3. The Pulse of the Time-Wheel — Stave 4, the Stream. "I am an epoch of time's voice."
  4. The Descent of the Soul — Stave 10, the Dream. "Show me the hidden light of darkness."
  5. Return and Gratitude — Stave 13, the Revelation. "I return whole."

Noriyamo Dance — The Full Movement Guide

Figure-Eight (13 phases)

The cyclical core sequence — from starting position, through rotations, down into lotus, and back to a completed circle.

The 16 Core Movements

From the Strength of the Forest and the Power of the Wind, via the Sun's Greeting and the Butterfly's Dance, to the Peace of the Earth — a full journey of the body.

Recommended start: a five-week program, from grounding (week 1) to full integration with ceremony (week 5).
